OOF X Umbro@headingTag>
When is a football jersey more than just a football jersey? When it's a genuine limited-edition work of art and we’ve joined forces with art and football magazine OOF, to create just that!
For their first collaboration, OOF x UMBRO asked two of the UK's most exciting contemporary artists - Juno Calypso and Rhys Coren - to create unique pieces of art. But instead of working with canvas, photography or sculpture, they're using our football jerseys as their medium.
Photographer Juno Calypso’s work focuses on self-portraits. From abandoned underground bunkers to heart-shaped hot tubs, she builds a soft pink universe of femininity and solitude with a hyper-critical edge.
For her jersey, Juno plays on a Calypso theme with wavy pink stripes. This is completed with a black collar and diamond details on the sleeves. It's confrontational, sinister and undeniably hers.
Rhys Coren’s works are filled with clashing primary colours, cartoon bubbles and countless nods to rave and disco culture.
His jersey stays true to style with stark geometric shapes bursting with blue, yellow and red. This floral approach makes for one of the most sunshine-friendly football jerseys you'll ever see. Both designs are limited to 300 pieces each and are from available now.
